Anna is a freelance artist and illustrator who enjoys exploring the intricacies of the natural world through her work. She has been commissioned over the years by The Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh to produce botanical illustrations, which are published in a number of scientific papers, including The Edinburgh Journal Of Botany. 

 

Anna also works with oils, creating paintings inspired by British flora and fauna, and pet portrait commissions. Her attention to detail achieves realistic animal portraits which accurately captures your pet’s likeness. As well as more conventional paintings of plants and animals, Anna also likes to delve into the world of anthropomorphism, where she can transform any animal into any character you desire, from a renaissance nobleman, royalty, to a fisherman. This makes her pet portraits particularly unique, customised to suit the animal’s individual character.

 

Anna lives in the Scottish Borders with her two children. When she isn’t creating art, she’s in the woods foraging for wild food and medicinal herbs, and spending time in her slightly wild garden.
